Overview


We are looking for an assembly / fitter for pumps and mixers, someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with their hands, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and takes pride in doing the job perfectly.

Location: Milton, ON

Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Industry: Manufacturing

Reports to: Production Supervisor

 

Job Overview

Assembler/Fitter will build and align a wide range of pump and mixer assemblies and sub-assemblies.  A variety of work will be assigned, including but not limited to, mechanical assembly of rotating equipment, shaft alignment, welding, inspection and part modification.  Work with Engineering Department to resolve component or assembly related issues as they arise and provide feedback for corrective actions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Follow operational Standards and procedures
  • Read assembly drawings before starting assembly
  • Operate hand and fixed power tools safely and efficiently
  • Operation of overhead crane
  • Assemble, mount, and align mixers & pumps to quality and job specifications
  • Report labour and complete the work order using our computer program
  • Testing of pumps / mixers

  • Read and interpret documents such as Assembly drawings, Work Order instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence
  • Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Problem solver and critical thinker
  • Teachable, punctual, hardworking

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • The job requires the use of hand/powered tools, blowtorches, and operation of overhead crane and pallet jack
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull, and reach overhead routinely to retrieve inventory or pack shipments
  • Required to walk frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds routinely
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate hand and power tools, wires, fixtures, parts and sub-assemblies
  • The Job requires the flexibility to be used in many non-job related functions to support production as a whole

Experience required

  • OSSD High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical School Diploma, Trade Certificate or Equivalent Certificate of Qualifications
  • CWB Welding certificate would be an asset
  • 2-3 years of assembly and/or repair of mechanical rotating equipment
